The Sawmill, cutting through West Pymble!

“The Sawmill Café, Restaurant & Pizzeria, provides a warm environment by drawing its inspiration from the history of the Pymble area. The use of natural and recycled timber throughout the space reflects the early use of the local area. Pymble and the surrounding area was once a major supplier of timber to the early Sydney Colony. The first sawmill was established in the area in 1805 and West Pymble was selectively logged for the most sought after timbers. The attraction of the impressive stands of blackbutt, turpentine, stringybark, ironbark, blue gum and mahogany saw the upper north shore become an important supplier of timber throughout all of Sydney in the years to come. The Sawmill Café, Restaurant & Pizzeria pays homage to the history of the local area, while maintaining a feeling of warmth in food lovingly prepared and served from fresh produce.”

Paying homage to West Pymble by drawing inspiration from its rich local history, The Sawmill brings a touch of traditional Italy to the area. The feel and look unite both rich cultures together, one of Australian history and the other of Italian food. What a magical mix!

Brothers Rocco and John pursue their passion in hospitality by creating a unique and delectable variety of foods, one being pizza, our obvious favorite choice. Creating their delicious pizza masterpiece in our Valoriani wood fired oven with the days fresh produce and ingredients makes for a mouth watering experience.

Their menu boasts flavour, the biggest challenge one will encounter visiting The Sawmill is what to order! With everything on the menu screaming at you “eat me!”, you just might find yourself coming back here, again and again… just like I did.

Mouth watering experience. Unique atmosphere. True to it’s Australian heritage with a sprinkle of Italy = è perfetta!
